Rachel Strate

Analyst

Ms. Strate is an Analyst with Epic Ventures where she focuses on investments in the IT sector, specifically within the software and web realms. Concurrently, last year she was a researcher for the best selling book The Breakthrough Company written by Keith McFarland and published by Random House. Prior to Epic, Rachel interned with TD Securities in the index option trading division where she assisted in creating markets, calculating hedges, and communicating risk levels with traders on the floors of the CBOE and AMEX. Before interning with TD, Rachel was an associate with the University Venture Fund where she performed due diligence on a variety of deals for national venture capital firms and assisted in the marketing efforts for the first University Private Equity Summit. She subsequently was a fund manager for the University of Utah's Student Managed Portfolio. Rachel holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Utah.  She is highly involved in the Utah technology community and actively maintains two blogs.  Rachel assists on the boards of Alliance Health, Vortex and Q Therapeutics.  She previously assisted on the board of Mozy until the company was acquired by EMC.
