Celebrate Technology Coalition Honors Storage Provider as Technology Leader
BOULDER, Colo., October 18, 2004 — LeftHand Networks®, a leading provider of complete, integrated IP storage area network (SAN) solutions, is proud to announce that it has been honored with the “Front Range Innovation” award at this year’s Celebrate Technology 2004 Awards banquet. Celebrate Technology recognized LeftHand for its innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and contributions to Colorado’s technological business landscape. The Celebrate Technology Coalition was formed in the early 1990s as a means to recognize the achievements and contributions of the Colorado business community and companies that allow for the advancement of the state’s technological business frontier. Over 100 nominations were submitted for this year’s Celebrate Technology Awards. “LeftHand was the company that really stood out for its innovation and entrepreneurial spirit as is reinforced by the financial backing of some of the most astute venture capitalists in the US,” said Greg Holloway, selection committee chairman for Celebrate Technology 2004. “These qualities demonstrate LeftHand’s commitment to success and why Celebrate Technology is pleased to recognize LeftHand Networks’ leadership with this award.” “LeftHand is proud to be recognized for its commitment to providing the region with cost effective, full-featured storage solutions for mid-tier enterprises,” said Bill Chambers, CEO of LeftHand Networks. “Our work with many outstanding Colorado-based companies has contributed significantly to our efforts as we’ve pioneered the IP SAN market.” Colorado customers include: NORAD, Peterson Air Force Base, City of Fort Collins, City of Boulder, multiple departments at the City and County of Denver, La Plata County, Summit County, City of Vail, Eagle County, Denver Health, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Colorado State University, Intrado, and Noodles and Company. About LeftHand Networks LeftHand Networks re-defined shared network storage in 2001 with the introduction of the first full-featured IP Storage Area Network (SAN). By building a SAN with LeftHand’s SAN/iQ software and the existing Ethernet infrastructure, the LeftHand solution provides all the functionality of a fibre channel SAN while eliminating the learning curve, complexity, and expensive components associated with fibre channel. SAN/iQ – the intelligence behind the SAN – spreads the power of the LeftHand SAN across all storage modules using a distributed computing model. The advantages for users include simple management and unlimited, dynamic growth, no single point of failure, and performance that scales up as storage capacity grows. The LeftHand SAN is ideal for server and storage consolidation, centralized backup, and disaster recovery projects. More information is available at www.lefthandnetworks.com. About Celebrate Technology Celebrate Technology recognizes the achievements of Colorado-based companies and individuals that have contributed, in a significant way, to the technological business landscape of the state. Celebrate Technology also exists to support the advancement of technology not only in industry, but also in the classroom. With that in mind, the proceeds from Celebrate Technology 2004 will provide scholarships to students in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. The future of the technology industry in our region depends on the intellectual capital of its population. Bright students need access to good local jobs that maximize their skills. In providing scholarships to these students, we hope they will integrate into the technology community, and that future Celebrate Technology events will spotlight their achievements.
