LeftHand Networks CEO to Present on Future of Storage at SNW

BOULDER, Colo., October 20, 2004

Who: LeftHand Networks

What: LeftHand Networks co-founder and CEO, Bill Chambers, will speak at a session entitled “Predicting the Future of Storage” at Storage Networking World in Orlando. The session, which also includes a speaker from Intel Corporation, will focus on the storage commoditization trend caused by the shift to industry-standard storage platforms and the importance of grid-based technologies in providing redundant, available, and scalable storage networks.

Where & When: Thursday, October 28th, 9:40 am

For more information on SNW and this session, please visit:

Why: The session will address the transition in the storage industry towards commodity, off-the-shelf hardware. Utilizing standards-based hardware platforms allows customers to quickly leverage new technologies as they come to market, select best-of-breed vendor partners, and control costs.

LeftHand’s SAN/iQ software – the intelligence behind the LeftHand SAN – runs on industry-standard storage servers, bringing the benefits of standards-based environments to mid-tier enterprises looking to invest in an IP SAN.

Other LeftHand Events at SNW:

  • LeftHand exhibit in booth C32: see an IP SAN demo
  • October 26: LeftHand Networks customer: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to present “A Roadmap for an Adaptive Data Center” on Tuesday at 5:00 pm
  • October 28: LeftHand participating in the SNIA Hands-on Lab

About LeftHand Networks
LeftHand Networks re-defined shared network storage in 2001 with the introduction of the first full-featured IP Storage Area Network (SAN). By building a SAN with LeftHand’s SAN/iQ software and the existing Ethernet infrastructure, the LeftHand solution provides all the functionality of a fibre channel SAN while eliminating the learning curve, complexity, and expensive components associated with fibre channel. SAN/iQ – the intelligence behind the SAN – spreads the power of the LeftHand SAN across all storage modules using a distributed computing model. The advantages for users include simple management and unlimited, dynamic growth, no single point of failure, and performance that scales up as storage capacity grows. The LeftHand SAN is ideal for server and storage consolidation, centralized backup, and disaster recovery projects.
